Laminate Flooring
Hard-wearing floating floors, installed with the underlayment and expansion gaps the warranty requires.
Laminate earns its place in busy households: a tough wear layer over a dense core, at a price that lets you do the whole house at once. It is also the product most often installed badly, because it looks easy. Skip the expansion gap and it peaks at the seams; skip the moisture barrier over a slab and the core swells from underneath. We install it the way the manufacturer specifies so it performs the way the box promises.
What Our Clients Say
Unedited reviews from Northeast Florida homeowners. We hold a 5.0 rating across 40 Google reviews — the highest of any flooring company in the local market.
Why Choose Laminate Flooring
Built for households that get used
Modern laminate has a wear layer engineered to take scratches, scuffs, dragged furniture and dog nails better than most real wood will. For families, rentals and high-traffic living areas it is often the most sensible floor in the room. The visual layer has come a long way too — the better products carry embossed texture registered to the printed grain, so it reads as wood rather than as a photograph of wood.
- Scratch and scuff resistant wear layer
- Realistic embossed textures in wood and stone looks
- Fast, low-dust installation with minimal disruption
- A practical cost per square foot for whole-home projects

The details that decide whether laminate lasts
Laminate is a floating floor — it is not fastened down, and it has to be free to expand and contract as one sheet. That means a consistent expansion gap at every wall, every door jamb, every column and every transition, hidden under trim rather than caulked shut. It means the right underlayment for the substrate, and a moisture barrier over any slab. And it means a flat subfloor, because a floating floor bridges dips instead of following them, and a bridged seam eventually fails. None of this is exotic. It is just the part that gets skipped.
- Consistent expansion gaps at every perimeter and obstruction
- Correct underlayment specified for the substrate and the product
- Moisture barrier over concrete slabs
- Subfloor flattened to the manufacturer's tolerance before installation

The Advantages of Professional Laminate Flooring
Our Laminate Flooring Process
Free in-home estimate
We come out, measure the actual rooms, and look at what is under your current floor. Measuring off a floor plan is how jobs end up short on material.
Moisture and subfloor check
We test the slab or subfloor for moisture and check it for flatness before anything is ordered. In this climate that reading decides which products are safe to install.
Written estimate
You get the material, the labor, the removal and haul-away, and the prep work itemized — so you can see what you are paying for and compare it honestly.
Removal and subfloor prep
Old flooring comes out and leaves with us. We flatten and prepare the subfloor first, because every flooring failure we get called to fix started underneath.
Installation and walkthrough
Our craftsmen install, clean up as they go, and walk the finished floor with you before the crew leaves.

Laminate Flooring — Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the product line, so check the warranty. Mohawk's RevWood Essentials laminate carries only a wet-resistance warranty: spills left longer than 30 minutes may damage the floor and void that warranty. Mohawk also says its RevWood floors are not designed to withstand flooding, plumbing accidents or leaking appliances. For wet areas, we will talk you through luxury vinyl plank or tile instead.
Almost always a missing or insufficient expansion gap. A floating floor has to be free to move as one piece; if it is pinned at a wall, a doorway or by a heavy fixed object, it has nowhere to go but up. It is a very common failure and it is an installation issue, not a product defect.
Sometimes — over some hard, flat, well-bonded surfaces, with the right underlayment. It is not a way to avoid dealing with a subfloor problem, though. We check what is there and tell you honestly whether going over it is sound or whether it needs to come up.
Most homes are a matter of days rather than weeks, and it depends far more on removal and subfloor prep than on laying the new floor. We give you a realistic schedule with the written estimate.
For households where accidents are likely, Mohawk's SolidTech LVP is the safer choice: it is warranted waterproof against spills from above, while Mohawk's RevWood Essentials laminate carries only a wet-resistance warranty, and spills left longer than 30 minutes may damage it. Scratch resistance varies by product, so ask about the specific line during your free estimate.
Two ways to get laminate flooring in your home

We carry Mohawk, Happy Feet, Nuvelle, Lux. Material bought through us is covered for 2 years instead of 1 year. When we supply the floor as well as lay it, the installation is covered for 2 years too. Financing is available through Synchrony.

We install material you already own. Same craftsmen, same subfloor preparation, same supervision. No minimum job size, and an $800 minimum payment. The work carries a one-year warranty from the installation date.
