Two of the lines we sell as an authorized Mohawk retailer are carpet: SmartStrand and EverStrand. SmartStrand is built from Mohawk's SmartStrand Triexta fibers. Mohawk presents it as a carpet for busy households with kids and pets, with built-in cleanability and durability "proven to perform beautifully for years."
Recycled plastic bottles are where EverStrand begins. Once collected and cleaned, the bottles become PET fibers by way of Mohawk's patented Continuum process, and Mohawk says those fibers feel soft underfoot and are easy to maintain.
Coverage differs from one Mohawk carpet to the next, and Mohawk states it on the back of each sample in the store.
Professional installation and our warranty
In Mohawk's carpet warranty brochure, the advice to owners is to hire a professional installer, and the reason given is that proper installation matters as much as the carpet's original quality and durability. Mohawk also recommends letting new carpet condition overnight, preferably unrolled, in a space no cooler than 65°F before it goes in.
Each carpet installation runs under an experienced team leader, who keeps it within the manufacturer's warranty guidelines. After that, our own installation warranty applies. Carpet we supplied and installed carries 2 years on material and 2 years on labor; carpet you bought from another store carries 1 year on material and 1 year on labor from the installation date.
