Tile for Yulee homeowners
Most Yulee homes are owner-occupied: about four in five households own the place they live in.
When you own the floor, it is worth knowing what you are buying, starting with the difference between porcelain and ceramic tile.

Porcelain, ceramic, glazed and unglazed
Industry standards define porcelain as impervious tile, meaning it takes on very little water, and ceramic tile that is not porcelain absorbs more.
Porcelain itself comes glazed or unglazed. The glazed kind usually cleans a little more easily, and the unglazed kind may offer better slip resistance. Because the color of unglazed porcelain goes all the way through the tile, some people call it through body.
Porcelain asks more of whoever sets it: compared with non-porcelain tile, it is harder to bond to the floor and harder to cut. For you as the homeowner, those differences generally matter little, provided the installer uses the right materials.
How tile goes down, and our warranty on it
Thinset mortar, a blend of cement, very finely graded sand and a water retention compound, bonds tile to the surface beneath it. It cannot level that surface, so the tile follows whatever is underneath, and any variation or movement there can affect the tile.
Tile also needs room for expansion and contraction in every installation, and a team leader supervises each job to keep it inside the manufacturer's warranty guidelines.
For the job itself, our installation warranty runs 2 years on material and 2 years on labor when the tile comes from us and we set it. When you provide the tile, the terms are 1 year on material and 1 year on labor from the installation date.

How a Tile Flooring Job Runs
No surprises and no pressure. Here is exactly what happens, in the order it happens.
Free in-home estimate
We come out, measure the actual rooms, and look at what is under your current floor. Measuring off a floor plan is how jobs end up short on material.
Moisture and subfloor check
We test the slab or subfloor for moisture and check it for flatness before anything is ordered. In this climate that reading decides which products are safe to install.
Written estimate
You get the material, the labor, the removal and haul-away, and the prep work itemized — so you can see what you are paying for and compare it honestly.
