Tile for Orange Park's mid-century homes
Some of Orange Park's houses date to the middle of the last century. An estimated 800 homes in town were built in the 1960s, and 408 in the 1950s.
If you live in one of them and it's time for a new floor, tile is one of the options we install, in porcelain or ceramic, and we'll help you choose the one that fits the room.

Choosing between porcelain and ceramic
Industry standards define porcelain as impervious tile, and tile that isn't porcelain absorbs more water. Not everything sold as porcelain meets that standard, so the PTCA certification mark is a handy check: tile carrying it has been certified as true porcelain.
Within porcelain, the finish matters. Glazed porcelain is usually a little easier to clean. Unglazed porcelain can grip better underfoot, and because its color runs from the face of the tile all the way through, it's sometimes called through body.
Set with room to move, and backed by our warranty
Tile and the floor beneath it expand and contract by different amounts, so every tile installation needs room for that movement. A smaller room can handle it with a gap at the edges, often tucked under the baseboard or shoe molding, while larger floors get movement joints you can see.
Porcelain is also harder to cut and to bond than other tile. That's the installer's job to manage, and as long as the right materials are used, it generally makes little difference to you.
Each tile job has an experienced team leader in charge, keeping the work within the manufacturer's warranty guidelines. If you buy the tile from us and we set it, our installation warranty runs 2 years on material and 2 years on labor; if you provide the tile, it runs 1 year on material and 1 year on labor from the installation date.

Buying tile, or bringing your own
Get tile from us and have us install it, hand us tile you bought elsewhere, or buy tile from us and do the setting yourself or with a crew you hire. Free estimates and in-home measures come first, and you can book an appointment at our showroom, 7949 Atlantic Blvd, Suite 106, in Jacksonville, to look at tile in person.
How a Tile Flooring Job Runs
No surprises and no pressure. Here is exactly what happens, in the order it happens.
Free in-home estimate
We come out, measure the actual rooms, and look at what is under your current floor. Measuring off a floor plan is how jobs end up short on material.
Moisture and subfloor check
We test the slab or subfloor for moisture and check it for flatness before anything is ordered. In this climate that reading decides which products are safe to install.
Written estimate
You get the material, the labor, the removal and haul-away, and the prep work itemized — so you can see what you are paying for and compare it honestly.
